The IT governance model performs an essential function in the business to set forth the manner of directing IT investment, allocating resources, making sourcing decisions and chartering projects and programs. Without a strong IT governance model, companies often have difficulty translating governance concepts into tangible actions and deliverables.
The W Group ensures the design and establishment of governance models is an integral part of our consulting engagements. Our role then varies based on the scope of the IT services being provided and managed. We rely on our industry experience across a broad section of industry groups and IT organizational models to assist clients in establishing governance processes that reinforce the enterprise governance model. In general, engagements are oriented toward one or more of the following:
- Designing a new governance model, including roll-out plans and implementation
- Analyzing the performance of an existing governance model
- Developing the prescription for improvement (remediation)
- Managing the improvement process
- Participating on a governance body on a temporary basis
